Card Configuration8 Port RS232 PCI Card This card is very simple to install. All addresses and IRQs are automatically issued by the Plug and Play BIOS.
Switch 1(SW1)The board is generally shipped with Switch 1 set as shown in the graphic below labeled Switch 1. This switch is used to identify the card when more than one card is used in one machine. As more cards are added, make the switch a different setting for each card. Table 1 illustrates the settings that should be used if more than one card is placed in the computer. Switch 1
Jumper 1 and Jumper 2 (JP1 & JP2)Jumper 1 is used to select the speed of the crystal driving the UART. When pins 1 and 2 are jumpered, the output frequency received by the UART is 1.8432 MHz. This speed supports up to 115200 Baud. When pins 2 and 3 are jumpered, the output frequency received by the UART is 7.3728 MHz. This speed supports up to 460KBaud. The table below summarizes.
